Operations Manager – Urbanism

Venue: Grafton House, Ipswich/Hybrid Working

Salary: Around £60,000 a year

As a professional planning department manager, you will manage policy, development management, conservation and our special projects team. Supported by a dedicated business support team, you will have direct responsibility for 27 staff members and 4 major work streams.

With a population of 140,000, Ipswich is a well-defined urban area, the historic port city of East Anglian with its significant industrial heritage and an Anglo-Saxon and medieval history which is still evident today. With fantastic green areas, working port, marina with extensive residential/leisure development; our famous city professional football club at the heart of our sports village proposals, a new university campus, a contemporary 20th century development, including the world-class Willis Building.

The Council has ambitious goals to build more affordable housing, regenerate brownfields and, most importantly, a newly adopted local plan promoting increased housing and jobs. We are ready for growth; you will join us in this exciting and important time.
