The role

We need a highly motivated and customer focused individual to work as part of our technical support team within the building control department. Based in Twickenham, the team provides administrative and technical support to professional building control officers undertaking a wide range of building control tasks. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is the first point of contact for members of the public and others in general, particularly when building control officers are unavailable.

About the role

A key part of the role is recording, administering and monitoring all building control applications, producing reports and documents, handling high volumes of telephone calls and providing technical support effectively and efficiently to the building control team, members of the public and liaising with service areas within management.

About you

  • You will have experience working in a similar technical support role in an office environment with the ability to work efficiently and effectively to keep the department running and provide excellent customer service.
  • The volume of work within the team is very high, resulting in an extremely busy environment and the work is very varied; therefore, you will need to be a willing, flexible learner and enjoy a challenge with a problem-solving approach.
  • You will have the computer skills necessary to enter and maintain the various databases used by the department and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with team members and clients.
