PLANS for the £20million construction of a new neighborhood center on the outskirts of Aberdeen have been announced.

Property development company, Hargreaves Land, has entered into a joint venture with Grandhome Trust to develop the new neighborhood shopping center as part of the Grandhome residential development in Bridge of Don.

The development has already seen 245 properties built, with another 1,500 sets to be delivered over the next ten years. Companies such as AJC Homes, CALA Homes, Dandara and Malcolm Homes have built properties in the development.

The new commercial phase of the development is expected to provide a “wide range” of retail, leisure and community amenities in a town center that will benefit not only residents of Grandhome, but also those who live in the surrounding area of Bridge of Don.

Ryden Property Consultants, who are retained as agents for the development, acted on behalf of the Grandhome Trust in negotiating the joint venture agreement which is expected to see around £20m invested in the creation of a ‘high-end’ district center quality” with companies. saying big brands “should show considerable interest” in the location.

Glasgow architect Cooper Cromer has been appointed by Hargreaves Land as lead architect for the retail phase.
