In addition to the stated salary, this role attracts a market supplement of £4,000 per annum (reviewed after 2 years), an essential car user allowance which is £963.00 per annum with 40.9p per mile paid. There is also an additional payment for being on the rotation of dangerous structures.

This role is progressive and we will ensure that you gain valuable building control experience across the full spectrum of small, medium and large scale complex construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the other principal and senior officer to provide high quality service to clients and ensure that the statutory function of the Board is effectively fulfilled. As a licensed professional (or working towards) (RICS, CABE, CIOB) you should bring construction industry experience and building control knowledge of a wide range of buildings, including high rise buildings. height. You will play a critical role in making pragmatic and valuable decisions about compliance with building regulations. Advance new projects within the borough and effectively transform our vision into reality.
You will be working or have obtained LABC Fire Safety Competent Person certification. The successful candidate will hold a clean, up-to-date driver’s license and use their own car.
You will contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient building control service for the borough, including making decisions on assigned building control applications, notices and matters assigned by the building control manager , enabling the delivery of quality developments that comply with legislation, industry performance guidelines and internal objectives.
