Bath & North East Somerset Council advise people to plan their trips between September 16 and 19 as the A37 via Pensford will be closed to allow for essential resurfacing work.

The closure will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday September 16 and the road will remain closed until the work is completed early in the morning of Monday September 19.

Bath & North East Somerset Council will use the road closure to carry out further repairs to the roads, repaint lines and road markings and coordinate with BT to allow them to carry out road works which prevent future disruptions.

Councilor Manda Rigby, Cabinet Member for Transport, said:

“Resurfacing work like this is essential for repairing damaged or deteriorated highways and keeping our road network at a high standard.

We know this is a busy section of road so unfortunately there may be some traffic delays, but we will work hard to minimize disruption and apologize for any inconvenience.

Diversion routes for traffic will be put in place and advance notices have been placed along the route to warn road users of the road closure. The council expects there to be higher than usual volumes of traffic passing through Stanton Drew while these resurfacing works take place and advises planning all journeys in advance to avoid delays.
