This position is available in our Portland, OR and Oakland, CA offices.

What you will do:
You will work in conjunction with our Job Captains and senior staff on a variety of projects to support the urban design process, creating reports, charts and presentations for our public and private sector clients. Staff mentoring is an integral part of our process at SERA, and we provide new professionals with a supportive, multi-faceted environment for career growth with exposure to a wide variety of project types and roles.

Urban Design and Planning is an intentionally interdisciplinary studio within SERA, which interacts with architects, landscape architects, planners, planners and engineers in the company’s five studios aligned with market sectors. within the firm. By bringing together interdisciplinary skills throughout the stages of the design process, we plan, design and build dynamic places for our clients, while always keeping the focus on the good of the community. The ideal candidate has an interest and affinity with interdisciplinary design processes, and a passion for creating great places.

Training + Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program in urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture.
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience desired.

What you will bring:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS is strongly encouraged.
  • Hand drawing skills and experience with Lumion, Twinmotion, Revit, Grasshopper or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal, written and graphic communication formats.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any given time and react quickly to changing client priorities.
