Bath & North East Somerset Council is advising people to plan their trips between November 7 and 11 as the A368 via West Harptree will be closed during the day to allow for essential resurfacing work.

Work will take place under a complete road closure between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Diversion routes for traffic will be in place and advance notices have been placed along the route to warn road users of the closure.

A total of 4,260 m2 will be redone along the A368 and its junctions with East Harptree Road and the B3144.

This program will be the 49th and final program in the council’s 2022 resurfacing program which began in April.

Councilor David Wood, a member of the Neighborhood Services Cabinet, said: “Resurfacing work like this is essential to repair damaged or deteriorated highways and keep our network running at a high standard.

“This is a key route through the village and our contractors will work hard to maintain the best possible access for residents, including closing as few roads as possible at all times to provide access to properties as much as possible.

“A diversion route is in place which appears to be long, but this was necessary to safely divert heavy goods vehicles along similar Class A roads.”

The council expects there to be higher than usual traffic volumes in the surrounding villages while these resurfacing works take place and advises planning any trips in advance to avoid delays.
